Risham Waseem
Climate Communicator • Community Mobilizer • Digital Storyteller
Founder of Climateabad & Project Coordinator for Cleaner Greener East London (Paint the Change).
A decade of storytelling, climate action, and community mobilization.
I have over a decade long experience of working in the development sector, specifically specialising in innovative communication and advocacy campaigns designed to engage local communities and facilitate civic action. I am the founder of Climateabad, an initiative to bring together Climate Education, Adaptation, and Action for our fellow Brown People in the Global South.
Within the UK, I am the project coordinator for Paint the Change, where I am leading a local climate action campaign in East London called Cleaner Greener East London. Previously, I was the director of Maati TV, Pakistan’s first web-based interactive video site, creating critical discourse and awareness on climate change and other social justice issues impacting the youth and marginalised segments of Pakistani society.
